Lockstep

Hi everyone!

RM48L95ZWTT utilizes dual ARM Cortex-R4F in lockstep.
1) Does this lockstep decreases performance?

2) Is it deactivatable?

3) What are the options? SingleCore / DualCore in lockstep / Dual core without lockstep (and each can run his own process)?

Regards and thanks!

HW: No, two R4F CPU execute the same code (CPU2 has a 2 cycle delay) and the results are compared by hardware (CCM module). If the results does not match each other, CCM will inform ESM module and output low on the nError pin. All done by hardware, no impact to performance.

    2) Is it deactivatable?

    HW: No

    3) What are the options? SingleCore / DualCore in lockstep / Dual core without lockstep (and each can run his own process)?

HW: No other options today (03/04/2013).

    Regards and thanks!
