Susheela,
There are two crystals and one oscillator on the HDK. The crystal for MCU is a TXC 16MHz crystal. This crystal's temp range is -40~70degree, it may not meet your application.
TI strongly encourages each customer to submit samples of the device to the resonator/crystal
vendors for validation. The vendors are equipped to determine what load capacitors will best tune
their resonator/crystal to the microcontroller device for optimum start-up and operation over
temperature/voltage extremes.
Regards,
QJ
Susheela,
As the temperature range of the crystal we used in the HDK does not cover the entire operating range of our devices (-40 to 125C), it may not be suitable for your application.
The crystal used for the micro is 16MHz. The oscillator is hooked up to RMII refclk and is 25MHz.
You can find the schematics of the HDK here: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/images/e/ec/TMS570LS31x_HDK_Schematics_RevE.pdf
