Bit of a strange question for this forum, but...

Is there any radiation data available for the TMS470 or TMS570, or has anyone attempted this previously (SEU and total dose)?

Hi,

I am a student at Frankfurt University. We are working on using the TMS570 Hercules safety microcontroller in ionizing radiation environments.
We need some radiation test data for our internal work to evaluate the feasibility of the same for our application.

Is there anyone else at TI who can help with this? I spoke to Brian several weeks ago offline, but never had a response. We already have an NDA in place.

Hey, I've submitted a request for this documentation a few weeks ago and got an acknowledgement of the NDA receipt. I haven't heard anything else though and called the general TI line, but they couldn't seem to connect me to SafeTI.

What else should I do to get this data?

Ryan,

Now that you have access to the SafeTI forum you can search it for the data you are looking for.

Basically Transient faults discussed in the FMEDA and associated documentation is the radiation data.

In regard to the type of testing, Kevin has made the following statement in this thread which also has some links to data from a 3^rd party regarding extraterrestrial testing https://e2eprivate.ti.com/safeti_functional_safety_support/f/59/p/6063/33237.aspx

“The part was tested for terrestrial neutrons at the LANSCE facility. No TID nor heavy ion data is available at TI.”
