PWM Update

Looking for a processor for a new project. LM4F232 comes to mind. However, when looking at the data manual, I noticed that the PWM in LM4F232 can only be updated when PWM counter is zero. This feature will affect some systems that requires high performance. Any comments?

  • Might this be an internal mechanism - dictated by ARM?   Are not similar restrictions found w/in MCU's offered by other ARM M4 makers?

Counter you reference dictates the PWM frequency too - so trade-offs can be made.

Which MCU can you cite (w/in this price/performance category) able to avoid this limitation?
