Hercules RM48HDK connection problem via virtual comm port

Hello all,

Recently, my team has started the evaluation proccess of Hercules microcontollers for new projects. We are using RM48HDK for the purpose. However, we discovered that communication via USB serial com port on some computers does not work. The Hercules Demo Suite Launcher does not open the port.

After clicking "Yes" the downloading proccess works correctly. The LEDs blink after PORST and communication with the board works via HyperTerminal. However, the DEMO software on PC still does not find the firmware on board.

Another problem is that on one PC we get the message "The VI is not executable. ..." :

We are running Windows XP SP2 and SP3 on our PCs.

Could you help us with workarounds ?

The solution was related to the second part of my initial post. I installed the recent version of Microsoft .NET. And it did not help. Still the same error about NI.

Hello,

In the first error scenario can you check whether the nerror pin is glowing red?

1.Disconnect the board connect it back

2.Wait for the lcd blink to get over

3.Open the DEMO GUI.If the nerror pin is not set then the demo should start working properly.

Let me know if this works

I will recheck on the second error scenario related to "This VI is not executable".What is OS configuration of the other systems where this message is not seen?
