Differences between loopback modes for MibSPI

Hi,

I have the questions for the differences between loopback modes for MibSPI on TMS570LS2124.
There are two settings to configure loopback.

1. write Ah to the IOLPBKTSTENA field in the IOLPBKTSTCR register
2. write 1 to the LOOPBACK field in the SPIGCR1 register

What are the differences between these loopback modes?
And, how can I decide which mode should I use?

please see attachment for MIBSPI IO loopback diagram. It is in figure 24-22 of the TRM.

1- The IOLPBKTSTENA indicates IO loopback test enable key for IO DFT. This is not functional mode. This bit goes with LPBK TYPE. please don't use this for functional mode.

2- LOOPBACK field in SPIGCR1 endable or disable internal loopback mode. See the figure 24-22 for internal loopback
