Hello,
Is there a switch setting to preserve USER CODE sections? I'm using the TMS570LS3137 with the Texas Instruments Tools.
Thanks, Charlie Johnston

Charlie,
HalCoGen shouldn't overwrite anything that you place inside the comments like this.
/* USER CODE BEGIN (0) */
your code goes here
/* USER CODE END */
If you are seeing otherwise, please paste in an example and let me know which file it's not working in and I'll look into it.

Hi Charlie,
Super. Do you think you may have touched the comment lines accidentally (added spaces to them or deleted spaces).
I seem to recall that HalCoGen is particular about the comment lines around the user code. Anyway something to keep in mind in case it occurs again.
Best Regards,
Anthony
Hi Anthony,
That may have happened - this time I just copied the user code into a fresh output from HALCoGen. This brings up another question - can I add user code sections in addition to those added by HALCoGen if I use the format above?
Thanks, Charlie Johnston
Charlie,
I just tried adding one and it was removed during regeneration. So I would say it's not safe to do this.
The good news is that the user code sections are already in the generated file in pretty much every place you might need them to be.
If you find an exception where you think it would be good to have but you don't see it, you can post that to the forum as a suggestion.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Anthony
