I using the workbook examples and labs from the website with the specified hardware.

Stellaris Lauchpad LM4F120 & KentecEB-LM4F120-L35

CCS Version: 5.2.1.00018, Stellarisware from SW-LM3S-9453.exe

Things have gone well upto the Kentec example "grlib_demo" project and

I'm stopped over the following error which I have no clue as to what to do to resolve; the console message as follows;

CORTEX_M4_0: GEL: Encountered a problem loading file: C:\Users\KenG\workspace_v5_2\grlib_demo\Debug\grlib_demo.out Could not open file.

I got smart here and created an empty file in the location requested on the build the file message went away but;

Problems window has the following;

Description Resource Path Location Type gmake: *** No rule to make target `C:/StellarisWare/boards/MyLaunchPadBoard/utils/ustdlib.c', needed by `utils/ustdlib.obj'. grlib_demo Unknown C/C++ Problem

I fussed around reloading Stellarisware and also downloading the example from Kentec, with out any results.

Any clues would be appreciated.

Hi Ken,

See if this "Getting Started with the Stellaris® LaunchPad: Chapter 10 Video" helps. The setting up of the Kentec Display starts at 12:34.

And - as past reported here - head-scratching, hair pulling... starts shortly thereafter...

(interconnect between launchboard & display has past proved suspect...beware!...post - months past here - details)

I've run the uTube video, his import/ install runs out of the box. Mine has the failure in the original post. What version Stellarisware is displayed in the video?

I don't have your setup to help better. I think you just need go through again the proper instructions here. Reading a related thread below might help also.

What is "Setup" in the last post? I've followed the installation & setup verbatim from the workbook.

I see the workbook is using CCS v5.3 I have CCS v5.2, I'll look into this today. Also, the Stellarisware show in the video has the

Kentec demo project; my install does not (SW-Lm3S-9453.exe).

Still Stuck in the Mud.

1. deleted C:\Stellarisware.

2. Installed Stellarisware from inside the CCS v5.2 downloaded from the site in the Workshop manual.

3. Installed the Workshop 1.5 examples to C:\Stellarisware. Do not delete.

4. Installed Stellarisware SW-LM3S-5463.exe on top. Answer NO to ALL.

5. The project now builds correctly.

The bad news is the current release of Stellarisware "SW-LM3S-10636.exe" does not contain any support for the LM4F120XL boards.

The Launchpad software can be found in the TivaWare release. This thread provides additional information. In addition, the http://www.ti.com/tool/sw-ek-lm4f120xl link will provide the correct download, starting tomorrow (the link is broken today).
