HET problem

Hi Ram,

Can you let us know if you have made any external connection between HET0 and HET7, so that you can capture the PWM generated from HET7?

if not, you may have to connect the PWM to pin 1 and enable digital loopback between HR0(pin HET0) and HR1(pin HET1).

HET0 and HET7 is externally shorted and same is mentioned in the PDF .

I didn't spot anything in the .PDF so let's start w. the obvious.

Did you call hetInit() and pwmStart() in your main function, before trying to read the input capture?

If you want to attach your main() that would be fine too.

we are generating PWM in HET[0] and shorted through digital loop back to HET[7]

In HET module, PWM Input capture is read through 'capgetsignal' function. While doing so the function returns dutycycle and period as Zero all the time. After adding the variable to watch, the watch values were observed as in screenshots. The watch data is available for both Input and Output in the PDF slides 1 &2.

PWM outputs are working fine, the problem is with Input capture.

I have attached an example for HET-PWM and HET-Capture. I'd recommend to follow the procedures of the PDF and see if you can find any differences to your setup. The example originates from my university classes and is also used in the Hercules - Workshops in Europe.

Hello Frank we have one more query

The code is running fine when the .out file compiled in debug mode is downloaded to device.

If we compile same code in release mode and download .out file, the code does not work properly in the microcontroller

CCS5 - Configurations "Debug" and "Release" are just two different set of options, which are produced by default, when you create a new project.  For my test, I just used "Debiug" and adjusted the options in it to my needs. I haven't used the configuration "Release" for the example above. It might well be that there are some of my additional search path options in "Release", which are not correct.
