Hi:

Now we decide to use the Debugger XDS100V2 external just like the JLink module, means that we do not design the XDS100V2 on the board.What we need to know is details about the interface on the board like the ARM 20pin JLink used.

Do you have some references about the external interface XDS100V2 communication with the TMS570LS3137 PGE? Which can help a lot designing the board.

Could you be more specific and tell me which XDS100V2 you plan to use? (which vendor)

Also you want the connector interface to be ARM20 pins.

Usually the XDS100V2 are available with 14pins connector and come with an adapter to convert from 14 pins to 20 pins.

Re. your prior post, there is also a new XDS200 emulator that is in the $300ish price range. It has a lot better performance than the XDS100 but is still economical. It's new and only one guy on our team has tried it with TMS570 but he says it worked well.

Eh.., I don't know that the XDS100V2 have many vendors..... Different vendors' projuct mean that the 14pin connector on the board maybe different too? If that is same, no matter which XDS100v2 can work, does it?

If I design the ARM20pin just like the TMS570ls3137 HDK on the board, and connect an 20pins to 14pins circuit(make sure the TDO TDI...and other signals are in the right position), then I can use the XDS100V2 emulator to debug the MCU with the 14pin and use the JLink emulator with the 20pin? Of course, they should not work simultaneously, is that correct?

I'm not so much familiar with this, so maybe some stupid questions mentioned above.

Yes, that's right. You can use one of the 20 pin connectors on the board and build an adapter from 20:14.

Hi Yong,

Sorry, I forgot to mention - I think some of the ARM 20 pin emulators expect nTRST pulled up but our chip needs it pulled low for reliable startup.

I forwarded this thread to one of our colleagues who handled this on the HDK so he can comment how it was handled.
