TPS65381 - SEL_VDD3/5

Hi,

there are two different statements about this pin:

datasheet, page 6 and 70:
SEL_VDD3/5 pin open: 3.3V SEL_VDD3/5 to ground: 5V

datasheet, page 53 and 63
5V setting (pin SEL_VDD3/5 no-Connect)
3.3V setting(pin SEL_VDD3/5 connected to ground)

Which one is correct?

Hi,

thanks for the answer.

'My' datasheet is 'February 15, 2013 – Rev 2.92',
so actually a newer version than the one that you sent me.

So TI should correct the newer datasheet.

I don't know where you got the most recent datasheets. On the TI boards with both TPS65381 and Hercules devices, we leave the sel 3v/5v open and connect 3v/5v and vccio (3.3v) together. And it works well.

I will send an email to the owner of TPS65381 to double check it.

Andy,

I checked the datasheet rev. 2p92 and the description is not consistent.

The real behavior is: If SEL_VDD3/5 is connected during start up to gnd, VDD3/5 will be typical 5V, If it's open during start up, VDD3/5 will be about 3.3V.

I will inform system engineer to correct the datasheet. Thanks for the information.
