"Error connecting to the target" message

Hi,
I am using a XDS510 emulator and a TMS470.

What I did do
I started to to download the program via CCS to the board. When the flashing process has started I made the mistake (apparently) to cancel the flashing but at the same power off the board!

Since then I get the following message:

Error connecting to the target:
Error 0xC0002240/-5008
Error during: Initialization, OCS, Control,
Unknown Error

We have other identical TMS470 boards and the XDS510 is functioning because I am able to flash those so the emulator is OK.
It seems something happened inside the TMS470 when I turned off the power during flashing.

I have tried nowFlash and UniFlash and tried to erase the flash but they return about the same error messages.

Any ideas?

Hi Lars,

Please try holding reset on the board until nowFlash indicates it is trying to connect and release it. It may take several tries to get this workaround to work. nowFlash requires access to the CPU through JTAG. If any code is running on the device, the JTAG access will be prevented. By holding reset until nowFlash tries to connect, you give nowFlash a chance to halt the device before the existing code has a chance to execute.

Can you please copy/past the message from norFlash? Which board are you working on?

Hi QJ again,
for some reason some text disappeared in the previous mail when I inserted the image.

Anyway, the board I use is TMS470MF06607 100Pin QFTP.

Hi QJ again,
I saw that I had selected the wrong device in nowFlash, CORTEX_RXX instead of CORTEX_MXX.
I changed that but I get the same message. I also have tried with XDS100v2 emulator.

Is it possible to destroy a MCU?

Hi Lars,

Please check "Keep Window" and 'Debug Info On" on the right side of the norFlash panel. The debug info will be in CMD window.
