RM48L952 + external XDS100v2

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RM48L952

Hi,

We're designing a PCB with a RM48L952 and plan to debug using an external XDS100v2 from Spectrum Digital.  We have copied the HDK design:

Please could you check this is correct (there is a small mistake, R100 should be 0ohm)?  I am concerned by the nTRST - why is it not just connected directly to the JTAG?  What is the consequence of asserting nTRST whilst POR_RESET is low?

Thanks,

Jack

  • Hi Jack,

Since RM48L9502 device has internal pull-up or pull-down on TCK/TDI/TDO/TMS, the external pull-down/up is not a MUST. If using spectrum digital XDS100V2 emulator, you can also remove QZ, R106, C174, R61. D1 is used to indicate the data communication on TDI, and it is not required for product, so D1, Q1, and R48 can be removed too.

    Regards,

    QJ
