HalCoGen: random startup

Hi,

We are seeing a random startup, seemingly an auto update type of thing.

Every once in a while, this just starts up, all on it’s own, and gives this error:

"c:\<install directory...too long to type and won't copy>\HalCoGen was not found"

As far as I know, it is no more than just a nuisance, but it is rather peculiar.

Any idea how to get rid of this? (how do you disable an automoatic check for updates?)

We are at 4.5 months old with no progress at all.

Hi Howard,

Installing Latest version, V3.06.00 should stop from getting the update popup.

I wish it were that easy.... V3.06.00 does the same thing.

I would cut and paste the error in, but that doesn't work.

it is a Halcogen error window that simply says ! C:\......\Halcogen was not found

Seems like there must be a registry that needs to go away?

Can you try sending me a list of registry entries used? I will manually delete the remainding entries following an uninstall.

Tried the schtask, but it is an unrecognised command in Win7 (at least on my machine).
