Can I use EKS-LM4F232 Evaluation Kit with Code Composer Studio to program/debug TM4C123BE6PM sitting on my custom board.

Hi all,

I know that EKS-LM4F232 evaluation kit has on-board ICDI which it uses to program the on board device, so I was wondering whether I can use the same ICDI with the 10- pin header for debugging a Stellaris device TM4C123BE6PM sitting on my custom board. If yes can you please explain in detail.

Besides this any other suggestions will also be very helpful.

Hi,

It seems, that is not possible. See, below from the EKS-LM4F232 User Manual.

"Although other Stellaris kits support debug out, the EK-LM4F232 evaluation board does not support this. You can use another Stellaris evaluation kit for debug out."

Hi Ishan,

Markel is correct in that the EK-LM4F232 does not have debug out capability. However, you can use a Stellaris or Tiva Launchpad as described here, or you can purchase one of the XDS100 devices.

Thanks for your inputs.

Now if I use XDS 200 to program my device, is the below pin connection correct??

XDS 200 has a CTI20 header, to which I connect CTI20-ARM10 adapter. Those 10 pin connection goes as below

Pin# Connected to

1 3.3 V

2 TMS (JTAG port on device)

3 GND

4 TCK

5 GND

6 TDO

7 GND

8 TDI

9 GND

10 RESET

please correct me if I am wrong.
