Hi,

Regarding RM48 evaluation kits, is it possible to work with Matlab/Simulink software ? Do you provide the board support package (BSP) in order to work with this tool ?

Hi Zanzibar,

It is possible and we are currently working on a support package, but unfortunately this will not be available until end of November this year. The package will be posted to the RM4 ARM Cortex-R4 Software Page once it is available.

I think we've got a day or two more before we post it, sorry. I'm changing it over from TMS570 by default to RM48 by default though; since it seems most of the interest is currently in the RM48.

Please send me a friend request so we can communicate directly if you'll be using this; as I'm sure I'll need to provide a little direct support for this version. Its more of an example for a particular board, with instructions on what to change if you change boards, chips, etc. So it should work for you with the RM48HDK but may require tweeking for other platforms.

I have DRV8301-RM48-KIT and i am beginner to ti's and other controller programming. I am finding it difficult to start with ccs and it would be very helpful if i can use simulink environment to control EVM. Is it possible to do this ? also where can i get add on files?

Yes, it should work. It's a bit more effort I think than what is documented in the migration instructions because the LC43 is a little different than the rest of the TMS570 products. Specifically ECC is always enabled. So in addition to making a HalCoGen startup code folder for the LC43x you probably also need to change the linker command file - per the recommendations here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../LAUNCHXL2-570LC43-RM57L:_LinkerECCRecommendation

Also the 'loadti' script probably needs a few lines added to change the flash programming settings to match the instructions on that wiki page. (turning off verify, turning on 'system reset on connect).

But these aren't major issues. You should be fine to get started.
