Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C123GH6PM
Hello,
we are planning to start a new pcb design. During development we were using the lm3s9b92 controller which included an ethernet controller and a (ported) lwip stack including examples in stellarisware.
I've read in several documents that tm4c123gh6pm is available with ethernet and using lwip is simply a matter of including lwip 4.1. Several application notes talk about ethernet on the device, but when I read http://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/tiva_arm/f/908/t/283657.aspx and the tm4c datasheet it looks like there's no ethernet controller on the device in production. Is this true? If so, the information TI is providing is extremely confusing: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/spma049/spma049.pdf (see chapter 20).
Most of all, TivaWare currently does not include lwip whereas stellarisware even included a ported lwip for the lm3s9b92. Will TivaWare eventually include a ported lwip stack and is it simply a matter of including lwip in the software project to use the raw API?
Can a TI employee answer these questions? We are nearing the deadline on chosing a replacement device and we don't want to spend a lot of effort porting lwip and our application and an ethernet controller is a definite must. If an NDA is required or if I can contact someone with all these questions, please let me know so I can take further action ASAP.
Kind regards,
Johan
