Hi..

I am programing RM48L952 micro controller, using XDS100V2 USB emulator and CCS V 5.4.0.00091.

I see the following error when I try to program the controller.

"CortexR4: Error connecting to the target: (Error -1206 @ 0x0) Unable to access the DAP. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 5.1.73.0)"

The procedure in the following links have tried but we did not find the solution.

Hi,

Were you able to access and connect to the device in the past or this problem happens after downloading code?

What is the target configuration you are using?

Also, it would be good if you can run the "test connection' button and post the results.

The test-connection is a lower level test than simply trying to connect to the CPU and if it passes or fails then the answer helps narrow down the problem source...

I've attached the steps I perform to program the micro controller (image1-4), the target configuration (image 5) and the result of "test connection" (text at the end) to this reply.

Kindly go through them and clarify if I need to furnish you with more details.

We use 2 boards with the controller on them. One of the boards is working fine and the other is troubling me.

The following is the result of target connection test:

I think the problem is on screen 5

The problem is on the properties for CortexR4. The AHB Port Number has to be set to 0x02000100.
There is a problem in the TMS570LS3137 xml file used to generate the target configuration.
This will be fixed in the next CCS release.

Interesting, I thought that the issue with the XMLs and having 0x0 for the AHB PORT NUMBER was limited to the Spectrum Digital emulators.

Thinking this might be the answer, I just did a check on an RM46L852 board with XDS100v2.

The default AHB port # also came up as 0x0 but for some reason this doesn't seem to affect the XDS100v2 driver the way it does the spectrum digital XDS560v2 STM driver. In other words, I'm able to connect fine with the XDS100v2 driver if this port # is left 0.
