Dear all,

We have produced twenty prototype boards using TMX5700432PZQQ1.

Three of them have shown the following problem:

With Flash ECC enabled, the microcontroller enters a state of MCU ERROR. The ESM module signals a group 3 error

on channel 7 (FMC-uncorrectable error:bus1 & bus2 interfaces). We have noticed that, forcing the data wait states from 1 to 5, the problem disappears.

May this be due to the fact that the microcontroller is experimental (X version) ? If not, can you suggest some further investigation/solution to avoid the problem???

Can you please comment on the frequency of operation and number of wait states set for flash memory?

Dear Karl,

Frequency of microcontroller is 60MHz.

Flash memory address wait states = 0

Flash memory data wait states = 1

These values are automatically created by HALCoGen. If we force data wait states value from 1 to 5, the problem

disappears.

Hello Livio,

To help understand if this is a minor timing issue or a larger problem, can you please report what behavior is seen with 2 data wait states applied?

In general our TMP and TMX silicon should perform to the same level as TMS silicon. However, the manufacturing tests are not fully complete until TMS (production qualified), and it could be that some marginal devices slipped through the test screens.
