RM48l952 I/O Current

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RM48L952

Hi,

I have few questions for I/O output current of RM48L952.

These  pins can drive 2mA, 4mA or 8mA current  from datasheet of rm48l952.

Q1. How many amperes the pin can output with pull up to 3.3v? How many amperes the pins can output without pull up?

Q2. How many ohms the pull up and pull down resistor?

Q3. If I can increate the output current (for example 10mA ) by setup a pin's  PDR to "1" , set its PSL to "0" with a external pull up resistor ?

If I do like this. Whether  the output pin  will be damaged by  inspiratory current which is bigger the 2mA, 4mA or 8mA current ?

Thanks,

Chuan

  • Hi Chuan,

Q1. How many amperes the pin can output with pull up to 3.3v? How many amperes the pins can output without pull up?

    >> This is specified for each pin in the datasheet as 2mA, 4mA or 8mA.

Q2. How many ohms the pull up and pull down resistor?

    >> The pull-up / down is implemented as a constant current source/drain with a strength of either 20uA or 100uA strength. The strength is specified in the terminal functions table.

Q3. If I can increate the output current (for example 10mA ) by setup a pin's  PDR to "1" , set its PSL to "0" with a external pull up resistor ?

    >> No, this is not the case and may damage the pin.

If I do like this. Whether  the output pin  will be damaged by  inspiratory current which is bigger the 2mA, 4mA or 8mA current ?

  • Hi Sunil,

    Thanks for your reply.

About Q1, I means the 2mA, 4mA and 8mA is a driving current by a pin with pull up or without pull up. How many maximum current  can be provided from the pin with out pull up?

    Thanks,

    B.Rs,

    Chuan

  • Hi Chuan,

That is the current specified in the datasheet. The internal pull-up/down is disabled when a pin is configured as an output pin.
