Hi,

I want to know if TI has some samples about creat the stack and queue without any operatingsystem like the FreeRTOS? Can I just make it by myself?

If so, can you share the program? If not, can you tell me how to creat and use it in conjuction with the HCG?

SAFERTOS

It is similar to FreeRtos. You can download and get a demo. It includes all the queue, semphone features.

The SAFERTOS is very complicate, what I want is a simple demo about creating stack and queue, judge if the stack and the queue are empty or overflow...

The operating systems like is ucos, FreeRTOS, SAFERTOS,wince is a little complicate for my application. I want to do the task schedule myself.

sysBios (built in CCS5) also can do this but no official support to Hercules device. It publish all source code.

FreeRTOS publish all the source code too.

These two are the simplest RTos I knew.

Thanks for response, it seems no simpler way.

If I use the FreeRTOS, how does the FreeRTOS can manage the ram and flash space of the TMS570? In which file can I find the clues?

If you don't use operating system, you can use interrupt + a while (1) loop at the end of the main.

The while(1) serves as the idle or low priority task in operating system.

A queue can be realized as a circular buffer.

You can take a look at the motorware example. MotorWare Software Projects for RM4x Safety MCUs (v1.00.03.03)

Can you explain in details about realized the queue in the TMS570LS3137 as a circular buffer with the C code? Or provide some references about that?

eh,what I want is to creat a stack and queue with enough space, then I can use them when the application runs, it's like a simpler operating system(I must do the schedule work myself, not using other operating system).

While I just don't know how to get started with the TMS570LS3137 about the memory allocate, the stack and queue creating. So I come here to look for some simple examples about that (the FreeRTOS and operating system seems a little complicate).

Hope you can help! And any suggestion would help!

You can download the Hercules demo software from this link.

This demo software does not use any OS. You can use it as a reference.

Have you considered trying to configure FreeRTOS for just the features that you need?

There's a section in the FreeRTOS Reference Manual called "Kernal Configuraiton" that tells you what things you can change in the FreeRTOSConfig.h file.

This might wind up being easier than starting from scratch.

Note - you can even remove pre-emption and just use co-routines... commenting on the place above where you mention that you want to schedule yourself...
