Tiva + CC2544 via SPI - Can DMA be used for data transfers?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2544

When combining a TIVA C device with CC2544 connected via SPI can the DMA be used to transfer data?

Since the radio protocol and stack is running on the CC2544 we're trying to confirm that no CPU interaction is needed for data transfers from Tiva and that the DMA can be used for this task.

  • Yes, you can use the DMA to send/receive data to/from the SPI interface.  Just to be clear, there will be CPU interaction, but it's just the DMA done interrupt.  This allows you to do up to 1024 transfers without CPU intervention.
