Hi Experts:

I got a customer who wants to evaluate the performance of our TMS570LS0432 and there is a question about the frequency of ECLK pin.

They need a output CLK from our TMS570 to another ASIC and the requirement about the frequency is 48MHZ or 50MhZ.

My suggestion is stepping down the PLL to 50MHZ and setting the prescaler value to 1.

Is that work?

Ken,

You can chose VCLK=HCLK=100MHz and out VCLK/2 on the ECLK pin. However, the ECLK buffer is limited to 20 MHz. When you output 50 MHz, the signal level will not be 3.3V and the edges will be slow. You may need to ask the user to check it on a scope to make sure it works for their ASIC.
