Can we use the TivaC TM4C129x LCD controler output as the parallel RGB input?

Dear All,

Can we use the TivaC TM4C129x LCD controller output as the parallel RGB input?
We are investigating whether this LCD controller can be connected to the DLP® digital controller. Typically the DLP® controller expects 24bit RGB parallel data input as 1.8/2.5/3.3V LVCMOS.

Would you please advise?

Thank you and best regards,

Rossinag

  • Hi Rossinag,

We support a generic active sync interface (HSYNC, VSYNC, Pixel Clock, up to a 24-bit data bus, etc.) that we call Raster Mode. I'm personally not familiar with the DLP digital controller, but if it uses a combination of these signals, it should work.

Please note, however, that we do not support embedded sync.

  • @ Stellaris David,

Believe your post to be very well thought/constructed.  You carefully noted the, "focused capability" of your new MCU while noting the relative "rarity" of poster's application - and provided adequate (imho) tech guidance.

Poster's do have ultimate responsibility for their component choices.  It should be their job to make such determinations after a proper review of both their specific need and its "overlap" to the targeted MCU's feature/function/performance feature set...  And - as this specific MCU is, "brand new" it appears premature and/or unrealistic to expect such (rare & detailed) application data to be, "ready/waiting..."

  • Keep in mind that the LCD Display Controller is only available in the BGA packaged TM4C129x.

If targeted @ moi - recall that this reporter was first here to make and report that find!

  • Dear All

Thank you very much for your advice!

The figure of the "LCD Raster-Mode Active" in the data  sheet seems to be the solution for me.

    I appreciate all your help.

    Best regards,
