Fault on TM4C123G processor

While running an I2C application on the TM4C123G processor using the built in TI debugger and IAR compiler the processor locked up while stopping the debugger.  Now I get a fault every time I try to run the processor and download code.  Anyone else experienced this condition?

  • David,

Have you tried erasing the part with LM Flash Programmer?  Set your configuration for the either the TM4C123G LaunchPad or Development kit.  Under 'Flash Utilities', select 'Entire Flash' and click 'Erase'.  If this produces an error, try unlocking the part.  Under 'Other Utilities', select 'Fury, DustDevil, and Blizzard Classes' and click 'Unlock' and follow the instructions that pop up.  Try flashing the part with a simple program, such as an unmodified binary of the project 'blinky' to see if you can successfully program the device.  Let me know if any of these steps work for you.

There may be something in your code that is causing the device to lock up.  The next step would be to check to see if you are configuring any JTAG pins as GPIOs or maybe running into an errata, like MEM#04 or MEM#05.
