Data write by HTU into peripherals registers

Dear all,

in the TRM there is stated following:

"HTU .... it is specialized to transfer NHET (High End Timer) data to or from the microcontroller RAM."

On the other side I have found the forum thread regarding similar question as this post title refers.

So is the right conclusion that the HTU is able to write through the entire memory (as well as memory mapped) addresses - so into the peripherals (as ADC is) registers too?

Many thanks in advance,

Best regards, Jiri

  • Hello Jiri,

I have forwarded your question to our HTU expert. They should reply to you shortly.

  • Hello Jiri,

It is possible for the HTU to write to the full memory map including the peripherals.  The HTU is a dedicated DMA for the NHET. Its normal usage is to transfer from/to between the NHET RAM and the CPU RAM. For example, the NHET may have captured an input period or pulse and needed the CPU to process the data. In this case, the read by the HTU from the NHET RAM is very quick. It can read the control and data fields of the NHET RAM at the same time via a private bus between these two modules. It will them write this data as a bus master to the CPU RAM for process.

    regards,

    Charles
