TI Tiva | Flash Programming Options

Hello,

We are working on a product which will be based off the TI Tiva C series MCU. Our customer would like to be able to update firmware in Flash Memory via a USB stick or an SD card. The idea is to simply mail the customer a stick and have them plug it in to their board and update easily.

Is this an option? Or are we limited to updating via a JTAG interface?

Thanks for your input! This looks like something we could make use of. I'm looking into it now, but like I mentioned, is this something we could apply to be able to allow a user to simply insert an SD card or USB stick and easily update through a user interface?

Also, I noticed that the LM Flash Programmer is to be used to download firmware to flash if using UART0, Ethernet, or USB. Is there any way to automate the function of this LM Flash Programmer in order to push new firmware to the board through a user interface, such as push buttons on an enclosure?

Check out some of the example apps that provide the booloader capability in the Examples/boards folder of the TivaWare install. The samples provide simple apps for entry into the bootloader. Your app can provide any means to provide entry to the bootloader.
