Getting the device identification using TiVa Ware

I am using several Tiva parts. Unfortunately, while debugging several implementations on my desk, I forget to switch the emulator cable between targets and sometimes download an image into the wrong target. I would like to avoid this by checking the device identification in the DID0/1 registers.

I cannot find a TivaWare call to accomplish this. Is there a TivaWare call to get the device identification?

You can use CLASS_IS_XXX inline macro as defined in hw_types.h to do the same.

Here's a hack that you might like - sysctl.c has three APIs - one for returning the SRAM size, one for returning the device Flash size and one for indicating the presence/absence of a particular peripheral.

Since you are working with multiple devices, it is quite possible that you have a variation of at least one of these parameters (in fact they very well might have been your motivation to go for multiple Tiva devices). You can use these APIs to set/clear bits in an indicator flag. And use this flag to differentiate between device codes.
