tms570ls3137 question on emif timing diagrams

Hi Anthony:

Thanks for the detailed reply to this post - http://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/hercules/f/312/t/313144.aspx.

I actually have a follow-on question.  In the above referenced post you mentioned that the TRM chapter is out of date and that the AC values should not be used.

Question:  Are the actual timing diagrams still valid (see below)?  I see in this example - Async read timing, the setup/strobe/hold parameters are refernced to EMIF_CLK.  The same timing from the d/s (2nd diagram below) does not use EMIF_CLK as a reference. They are both using EMIF Async mode for reads. Please clarify.

  • Dwane,

The timing diagrams in the datasheet match the timing #'s in the datasheet and you should use the two together.

On some embedded processor products we've done it the way that it's shown in the TRM (referenced to EMIF clock even on the async EMIF).   We probably copied the TRM source from one of those products and it needs to be reworked.   Thank for bringing this up,  I'll submit a doc feedback on this point.
