TM4C1294NCPDT Using EPI in GP Mode

I am trying to understand the operation of EPI in GP mode.

Do writes ALWAYS go through the WFIFO? If so, then I guess that the address is also buffered in the WFIFO along with the data word.

Is the following correct? I have two choices for read; either direct memory map (blocking) or using NBRFIFO (non-blocking).

Hello David,

The writes go through the WFIFO and you are correct that on read path you can use either Non Blocking or Blocking Path.

I have a followup question regarding EPI in GP mode.

If my data size on the EPI is 16 bit are word (32b) writes or reads from core automatically translated to 2x 16 bit accesses on the EPI or can I only perform an explicit 16b transfer from core to EPI?

It will be converted to 2 16b transfers.
