Device descriptor xml missing

Based on new install of CCSv5.5.0.00077 and TivaWare 2.0.1.11577, I got the problem of missing tm4c129xnczad.xml, when compiling the blinky demo.

Both the CCS and the TivaWare are fresh downloads. The TIva C-series was selected during installation of the CCS.

Any ideas how to solve ?

Hi Peter,

Did you check if the xml exists in the CCS Installation Path?

E.g. C:\ti\ccsv5\ccs_base\common\targetdb\devices

Hi Peter,

I use CCS and TIVAWare installations separately and would suggest that. To ungate you attached is the zipped version of the file that you would have to copy in the path sent earlier.

This would not be a guarantee that there is something else missing.

Hi Peter,

I just downloaded and installed CCSv5.5.0.00077 and TivaWare 2.0.1.11577 on clean machine and was not able to reproduce this problem.

Can you check the CCS targetdb to see what tm4c*.xml files are present? For default installation locations, that would be here: C:\ti\ccsv5\ccs_base\common\targetdb\devices .

It was somewhat mysterious, but solved now.

Initially I was making a file search (win8) without finding the actual xml file.

Now I discovered that the new installation was making (or I had made) a sub-sub directory for ccsv5.

I made a new install now after renaming the old directories and now the directory structure looks normal.

Finally I had to choose the right debugging tool (XDS100V2 for me) and now it compiles with just a version warning for the compiler.
