School Project

Hi,

I am doing a project on TI's supply chain to identify any ways whereby we can help in cutting cost. May I know if there is any link to any product as to how TI manages the manufacturing process and the delivery to their customers?

Thank you,

Edmund Chin

  • Hi Edmund,

I don't know if your question is appropriate here. As you can see above, this is the Tiva ARM Forum. I have some experience in semiconductor manufacturing. Most manufacturing implement continuous improvement, kaizen, ISO9001, quality management system, 5S and a lot others. You can google about this in the internet.

Above mentioned are ways to improve production and processes. Usually this is the job of the Process Enginer, Product Engineer, and Quality Engineer.

  • Hi Kel,

Perhaps my question could be rephrased to be the manufacturing process particularly for Tiva Arm instead of Texas Instrument as a whole.

I would just like to find out the specific steps in the process as well as the figures for certain things such as the flow rate, flow time, lead time etc.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Edmund,

I hope someone from TI manufacturing can provide you the details. This is not usually discussed here.

I mentioned earlier that I had experience in semiconductor manufacturing. That experience include improving "flow rate, flow time and lead time" of semiconductor manufacturing from wafer cutting to sending the component for packaging. We even used statistical analysis to improve output.

I suggest that you do your research in the internet regarding this.

Might this vendor's many competitors seek similar?

Have you considered the best means - to make such a request - somewhat more compelling?  Seeking much - offering little - may not "sell" this (nor any other) request...

Beyond those guides - don't you expect that most vendors have their own internal experts - it would be unusual for an outside group to seriously "blip" internal radar...  (i.e. NIH...)
