Hi I was basically thinking about ordering some sample ICs in order to experiment with this launchpad. I have posted the question in the right forum now.

I saw your post at the MSP430 forum. It would be a good idea to check the MSP430 resources post. Your question can be interpreted wrongly as asking people to do the reading for you.

I think i used the word 'suggest' in the first place. I think TI members can suggest me some as there are around 40 ICs to order
