Tiva C Series TM4C123G LaunchPad driver installation

Hi,

Just now got my Tiva C Series TM4C123G LaunchPad (#TXK-210) and plugged it into my USB port.In my device manager I did not get any option like "In-Circuit Debug Interface" with yellow exclamation point. I have attached the snap of what I got in my device driver. But the LEDs are blinking as soon as I plug it into my USB port. Please tell me how should I install driver software.

Hi Deepak,

Are you sure, you are connecting the right usb connector? You can verify at the Tiva Launchpad User's Guide.

Hi Markel Robregado,

Thank you for your reply. I am not even getting the usual pop up thing in my WINDOWS 7 OS reading 'A new device has been found' when I connect my launchpad to my laptop. I am neither getting the figure-12 nor figure 13 in the link( http://www.ti.com/lit/ml/spmu287c/spmu287c.pdf) that you have provided.

I am using the same USB cable which was given along with the launchpad board. I connected the micro USB to thr port near which 'DEBUG' is written on the Launchpad

Hi Deepak,

Check if SW3 is set for ICDI as power source. You, can check where SW3 is at the Tiva Launchpad User's Manual.

Try at a different computer and see if you are getting the same response.

Hi Markel Robregado,

I hope by SW3 you actually mean Power select switch(the one that is near the micro-usb port on the launchpad). When I push that button towards DEBUGwritten on the launchpad), the launchpad gets power from my USB port and I am able to see LED glowing in different colors. But my launchpad is not getting detected in my Laptop. No notification like 'A new device has been found' is getting displayed on the screen.

Hi,

I tried burning program with my friend's USB cable instead of one which came along with my launchpad. My friend's got that cable along with HIS LAUNCHPAD. The launchpad is working fine. So I think the problem is with the cable. How do I proceed to buy only the cable.

Hello Deepak,

You can use any standard USB A to micro B cable which should be available at any retail store. Or you can return/exchange the Launchpad at the place you purchased it at.

That question is more appropriate at the MSP430 forum. I believe you can know that at the MSP430 launchpad user's manual.

Strange, you are asking about TIVA launchpad then you ask about MSP430--???

TIVA use a micro USB cable

MSP430 and C2000 LP too use a mini USB cable, so check which one are you using and buy the correct cable.
