TM4C123 or TMC129 REFERENCE Design DRV8332 & QEI

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8301

Hello

Looking for reference design using TM4C123 or/and TM4C129 for motion control

Using DRV 8332   or DRV8301 (+FETs)

AND QEI

Hall Effect is optional.

Secondly is there an InstaSpin  Port for Tiva... have used C2000 in the past.

Thanks Brian

Hi Brian, I dropped your same question and someone on TI respnded me is work in progress and no date is available.

In the past INSTASPIN was ported to Stellaris, after silicon failure it was probably not early ported to TIVA still in preview experimental stage. I suppose from what I can see new platform can be on launchpad form, some boosterpack appeared to market like this: https://estore.ti.com/boostxl-drv8301.aspx, It can be mounted on Tiva Launchpad too or TM4c129X devkit but no software is ready at this moment than on C2000 platform.

A good step can be to also develop a processor stick like c2000 to fit TIVA on C2000 motion and power control dev kits, I again suppose this may be work in progress and released on future when a lot of silicon test done.

C2000 platform is more mature and complete to do motion control but if old stellaris was capable of motion control also new more performant TIVA can do.

  • Thank you I have a few C2000 boards currently and have fought the Piccolo to use the encoder (QEI). We are starting a new design which requires an Ethernet Controller. so I was looking at Tiva.

    Thanks I will keep looking.
