Tiva board powers up when connected to USB but PC is no longer able to detect it.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C129XNCZAD

I have been workig with the Tiva C series ARM MCU development board. Abruptly, the board is no longer detectable by the laptop. I had no issues working with the board before this issue occurred. I can connect another board and it works absolutely fine. What could have potentially gone wrong with the first board and how to get it to work again? The board when connected to USB powers up the LED and LCD but the laptop is not able to detect it.

  • What board is this?

Does the broken board show up in the Device Manager list for your PC?

You can try getting the latest version of LM Flash Programmer from the web and on the "other utilities" tab you will find an ICDI firmware update button that may help if the ICDI has become corrupted.

  • This is a Tiva C Series ARM MCU with the TM4C129XNCZAD and a Kentec LCD. I learned one more thing that when I power up the board I should expect 3 LEDs to come on but instead only 1 comes on. Seems like the 3.3 v Voltage regulator is not working. I will have to send the board back for replacement/repair.

I installed the LM Flash Programmer but none of the options in this tool is able to detect the board.
