While Debugging (TMS570LS1227), PRCKEYREG register is not observed as Expected

i'm working on TMS470LS1227 Micro. Using CCS v5.3 and Spectrum Digital XDS510USB Emulator for Code debugging.

My PSCON (Power State Controller) Self-Test Code behaves as expected.

Issue is while debugging, PRCKEYREG is visible as 0x00000000 when code is entering to Self-test Error Forcing Mode(0x0000000F) or Error Forcing mode(0x00000009) but for Self-test mode(0x00000006), PRCKEYREG is observed correctly as 0x00000006.

I don't know what I need to do to fix it.Can anyone help me.

Hello Avinash,

Your observation is correct. In both the error forcing mode and the selftest error forcing mode the key will automatically switch to the lockstep mode after the test. In these two modes, it takes just one clock cycle to complete. The main diagnostic of these modes is to test the logic between the compare logic and the ESM module. We want to ensure that even the PSCON compare logic is working as expected, the error reporting path (i.e. asserting an error signal to the ESM) is also working.

For self test mode, you will need to write the key to 0x0 again to restore to lockstep mode. The selftest mode takes multiple cycles to diagnose the compare logic.
