What's up with the TM4C129 series?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C1290NCPDT

Hello TI,

The latest TI web site confusion removes all presence of the TM4C129 series, save for a single part "TM4C1290NCPDT" classified under the TM4C123 series (shows up as a 51st member with PREVIEW status).

Please comment and let us know if there has been a slip in the 1st quarter release to production plan for these parts.  Thank you!

Regards,

Dave

  • Hi Dave,

It's just a web snafu.  The parts will be back as soon as they get it fixed.  Sorry for the inconvenience!

    Sue

  • Thank you Sue - that's good to hear!

For the record, the page is back up now, although it's illegible in IE8 and Chrome (font problem?)

    Regards,

    Dave

  • The text is all Japanese in Chrome for me.  I'm assuming this will also be fixed soon...

    Sue

  • Hi Sue,

Now the Tiva area of the website shows 37 members in the '123 series and 15 members in the '129 series.  Previously these numbers were 50 and 20, respectively.  What is going on with the website???  Does the webmaster have a sick sense of humor?

I look forward to whatever reassurance you can provide...  Thank you!

    Regards,

    Dave

  • Mein herr - your "respectful" protest has now likely caused posts to undergo the always wondrous, "moderation."  No time to fix website/links - but moderation glides, "full speed ahead."

[edit] And - as quickly as censor arrives/moderates - now departs...

  • Looks like another web glitch.  Thanks for bringing it to my attention.  The parts should reappear shortly.

    Regards,

    Sue

  • Hi Sue,

Thank you for your patient support.  Indeed the website has been rectified to show 50 and 20 members, respectively.

However, the brand new (February 26th) Tiva C Series Product Selector shows 37 members of the TM4C123 series and 15 members of the TM4C129 series (exactly matching the "web glitch" discussed earlier).

It seems fitting that someone at TI look into these discrepancies and issue an authoritive statement regarding TI's intent with regard to the TM4C family.  What is the long-term plan, and why the continuing series of blundering, inconsistent, marketing releases?

I really don't like to be the annoying guy that keeps pointing out things - but why can't TI get firing on all cylinders?

The one constant, dependable aspect of TI we can depend on seems to be this forum.  You are an appreciated contributor to it.  I just don't "get" why TI seems to be so caviler about there marketing and roadmap...

    Respectfully,

    Dave
