surge protection at TM4C129XX

Hi all

Some of the ADC inputs are exposed to surge currents.

I like to know what is the surge current figures that are permitted with reapect

to sugre pulses durations?

  • Avi,

What is your device part number?  Check the ADC electrical characteristics table specific to your device package in the datasheet.  There is not a specific figure for surge current, but you should design the input to make sure that Vdda is not exceeded.   It is common to have a voltage divider on your ADC input to limit the voltage to the max stated in datasheet, including margins for component tolerances.  This divider network provides a path for excess current but if you expect surge currents regularly you might want to include additional protection in the form of TVS diodes or series inductors.
