Hi,

I started using the DRV8301 LS12 EVM kit.

I have run the GUI solution given in the kit for sensored FOC of BLDC , the motor works fine.

Then I installed CCS5.5 and try running the project "TMS570LS1227_sensored_speed_smo" .

I just followed steps in document "foc_encoder_speed_ls12" ( Sensored FOC Control with SMO for the

Hercules TMS570LS12)

Below are steps I followed

1. DIP SW1 all switched ff.

2. Build the code in ccs5 and use Run->debug to load the code.

3. disconnect from ccs5 and switched off power supply.

4. switches 1 &4 of DIP SW1 is switched ON for enabling TPS. (this is as per the above mentioned document for FOC control, but in the document for control card 570LS12 the dip switch 5 is for TPS enabling,)

5. Then powered up the kit and connect the targe in ccs5 environment. I got the below error

CortexR4: GEL Output: Memory Map Setup for Flash @ Address 0x0IcePick: Trouble Reading Memory Block at 0x0 on Page 0 of Length 0xc8

6. I tried calibrating , but the motor is not rotating for calibration purpose.

Could you please provide me solution, is it due to that wrong dip switch or any other problem?

Hi,

Today when I reflashed my code and run it . There is no error. But when I am trying to run the calibrate procedure mentioned in the document, the motor is not rotating.

Below are the LEDs glowing in the control card

D7 -pow - White

D8 - SPI - blue

D18 - ENDR - Orange ( but this is again my doubt, there is no D18 in control card document only D19 is there for ENDR)

D105 - blue

D104 - blue (blinking)

Is there any simple procedure to check my control card is working fine?

Hi Rick Duncan,

I found the solution to my problem.

This is the problem of the document provided with the DRV8301 LS 12 "foc_encoder_speed_ls12" . The dip switches are mentioned as 1 & 4 to be switched on for TPS

But it should be 5 & 7 to be switched ON. If possible please update the document for feature users.I have attached the few of the problems I faced and its solutions. It will be helpful for other starters.
