ROM Version

Hello,

I am using CCS V 5.4 , 123GH6PGE DK. i tried to get Tivaware library version on the ROM using ROM_VERSION macro but the value that i get is 622.I'd like to know what this number refers to ?.

I.e to which release of Tivaware library is it belong (2.1)or(1.0)), ......etc?

The ROM_VERSION macro does not relate to the TIVAWare library version. It is an identifier to know which Rom Version the TIVA device is built with

Hello Ahmed,

To use the ROM Functions you need to check the SYSCTL.DID0 register for the device version. The device version is in the lower half-word. If the lower half word reads 0x0101 then the device is B1.

Then while compiling the test you need to put the define TARGET_IS_TM4C123_RB1 and use the ROM_API call's.

Hello Amit,

I already know how to use ROM_API call's but what i ask about is that how could i know which Tivaware library version that exist in my ROM (i.e is it TivaWare_C_Series-2.1.0.12573 or TivaWare_C_Series1.0. ...etc ) .

is there an API that enables me to reterieve that version numbe or is it stored in a register ?

Hello Ahmed

There is no such API to retrieve the version number of the TIVAWare. However the TIVAWare rom.h is built according to device version. Hence, if you get a compilation error for a ROM_API call for a particular device and version, then the ROM does not contain the API any more and needs to be kept in Flash.
