1 Wire Protocol usage API for Tiva (TM4c123)

Hello Aamir,

Sorry, on TM4C123 1-wire does not exist as a module. You would have to write it.

However it is a supported module on TM4C129. The 1-wire module supports the temperature sensor and there is an application note along with an example code for Dallas Semiconductor Temp Sensors on the TIVA Web Site.

I will check when the next release of TIVAWare with the updated driverlib and inc files will be made for TM4C129.

TM4C129 board, it is supported One wire pin. But TM4C123 board don't have one-wire pin. How can TM4C123 board communicate with Dallas semiconductor temperature sensor by using one-wire protocol? Could you give me any suggestions?

There's an easily adaptable one-wire library out there (From the manufacturer) which I have used before. However, unless you are measuring temperature at a distance over high or questionable impedance lines there are simpler alternatives (often less expensive)

The TM4C123x device do not support one-wire peripheral. So there is no software support for the same on the TM4C123x. There are forum posts where users are using delay loop and pin write-read to achieve the same.

About your comment "using delay loop and pin write-read to achieve the same" to do this, I must set the pin of TM4c123 is open collector which will connect to wire-protocol pin of sensor and implement One-wire protocol library for TM4C123 using the open collector pin to communicate to the sensor. Is this right?
