Safety MCU Demos Suite does not connect to TMDX570LS31USB dev kit

Hello,

I am trying to launch the Hercules Safety MCU Demos program with the TMDX570LS31USB dev kit. When opening the PC program, the "Update Hercules Kit ID" application is launched, but selecting the Kit ID and clicking "Program" reports the following error:

"EEPROM PROGRAM ERROR!".

I can program applications onto the processor through CCS v5.3, and device manager shows TI XDS100 Channel A and B enumerated under USB controllers.

Any suggestions are appreciated.
