Hi.

My questions are regarding the TMS570LS3137.

In spnu511b.pdf (i.e. Safety Manual for TMS570LS31x), page 37, chapter "5.12.1 Autoload Self-Test" is stated: "... The test can be subsequently triggered by the software....".
Question 1: I assume that with this test is the one meant which is described in spnu499b.pdf, page 1719, chapter "32.3.2.5 eFuse ECC Logic Self Test". Can you confirm?

In spnu511b.pdf, page 37, chapter "5.12.2 EFuse ECC" is stated: "... The cyclical check applied by the ECC logic provides an inherent level of self checking ....".
Question 2: What is meant with the wording "cyclical check"?
Reason for this question: In http://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/hercules/f/312/p/335810/1173790.aspx, posting "Posted by Charles Tsai on Apr 18 2014 18:31 PM", is described that the ECC checking of the eFuse values is ONLY done during the autoload operation. And now I have an understanding problem how to connect
* the wording "cyclical check" from spnu511b.pdf (what means for me something like a "recurring check" during normal operation of the TMS570), and
* the information that the ECC check is only done ONCE per power up reset.

Oliver,

As Charles pointed out, eFuse controller reads from eFuse ROM and pass the values to the related control registers at power on reset. This read process is protected by ECC. Once the boot up process is complete, there is no need to access the eFuse ROM in normal operation.

For safety purpose, the user can check the integrity of eFuse ROM any time during operation by performing eFuse self test. In the eFuse self test, eFuse controller reads from eFuse ROM and check if there are any ECC errors.

So by performing the eFuse self test (which is described in spnu499b.pdf, page 1719, chapter "32.3.2.5 eFuse ECC Logic Self Test"), the two safety features EFU1 and EFU2 (which are described in spnu511b.pdf) can be tested. Can you confirm?

Is there a special reason why I don't get an answer for my question which is stated in "Posted by Oliver Gr??ndonner on Apr 23 2014 03:12 AM" above?

For me it's no problem if you need more time cause of possible further TI internal discussions. But it would be great if you can state here a note, that this is the case.
