The performance of TMS570LS1227

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS570LS1227

Hello,

I want to the performance of TMS570LS1227.

1,  How many DMIPS/MHz when the program is running in the flash?

2,  How many DMIPS/MHz when the program is running in the RAM?

3,  How many DMIPS/MHz when the program is running in the external DRAM(through EMIF)?

4,  How many DMIPS/MHz when the program is running in the external flash(through EMIF)?

  • Thanks for using the Hercules forum! An engineer has been notified of this question.

  • Hello Robin,

You cannot effectively measure performance in such manner because you must consider the different memory waitstates and configuration effects at different frequencies.  ARM quotes a generic number of 1.66 DMIPS/MHz assuming a zero wait state memory.

The best way for you to evaluate the performance would be to select a benchmark and perform the testing across the relevant use case conditions for your application.

    Regards,

    Karl
