HALCoGen with RM57L843

While migrating my project from an RM48L952 using ARM tools in HALCoGen 3.06.00, to an RM57L843 in HALCoGen 4.00.00; I noticed the following:

1) On the RM57L843ZWT tab, the block diagram on the General tab is labeled "RM57L643 Block Diagram", and some blocks, such as DMA, are greyed out. Though the RM57L643 is the wrong processor, will HalCoGen still produce the correct drivers for the RM57L843 device as selected when the project is created?

2) Under View->Device Explorer, the device explorer shows the TMS570LC4357ZWT. Again, as the wrong processor, will this still generate the correct drivers for the RM57L843?

3) When creating the project, there are no options to select "ARM Tools". My project requires the use of an ARM compiler. Will an "ARM Tools" selection be available in the future?

Hello Dan,

I am sorry you are experiencing issues with the newly released Halcogen tools for the RM57Lx devices. I have forwarded your issues/qustions to our Halcogen software lead so that he can have a look at them, make any needed updates to the tool, and insure that the current version does, in fact, generate the correct dirvers.

Hi Dan,

RM57L643 is a typo, It is actually RM57L843.HALCoGen generates code for RM57L843 device.

I remember from ARM ( KEIL) there is no official support available for the device RM57L843 yet. (I can double check again), that the only reason it was not supported bu HALCoGen yet.

Great. I was hoping that was a typo, and I guess I'll have to assume that #2 in my OP is also a typo.

I'm actually using DS-5 (not Keil, though both are ARM products), which supports the R5F generically via the v7 architecture. I use the 'ARM tools' settings so that HalCoGen doesn't generate a bunch of CCS specific pragmas, ISR's, etc.

Can the 'ARM tools' settings be turned on any time soon?

Hi Dan

End of July is HALCoGen's next Major release planned, we will support ARM and GHS tools in this version.
