New to Hercules, so it detects errors - then what ?

So I've bought me a hercules launchpad, I've read some of the datasheet but ultimately i have one fundamental question. Once the safety side of it detects a fault then what ? Does the dual processor help stop faults or does it just mean you can detect a fault. Is it then up to the user about what to do about the fault ?

Did you pick the hercules device for a particular applicaiton that has safety requirements? If so which industry / standard do you need to meet?

Thank you for the link I'll take a look. The application is military / life support. I'm aware that TI don't automatically warrant for military use but no one seems to and these seem to be the only readily available MCU's for safety critical. I will contact TI and see if they want to give us warranty but from previous talks with atmel we probably won't be using enough for them to even want to talk to us.

My only alternative is "solid" devices like logic gates and comparators.
