Can I use an old XDS510LC emulator with a TIVA C Series (TM4C1294NCPDT)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C1294NCPDT

I have the latest Code Composer (V6) and the TM4C1294 Connected LaunchPad experimenter's kit up and running.  I'm using the 'Stellaris In-Circuit Debug Interface' as my means to connect.

I have a number of older XDS510LC emulators that we still use on other TI processors.  I would like to continue to use the XDS510LC on our new board based on the TM4C1294NCPDT.

I don't see any electrical constraints that won't let me do this. But in Code Composer, I'm having a difficult time adding the XDS510LC to the pull-down list of recognized emulators.

How does one add additional emulators to this list?

Alternatively, should I just switch over to the XDS100 emulator?

Thank you for your help,

Peter

  • Hello Peter,

I have CCSv5.5 and it shows XDS510L as one of the emulator in the drop down menu. I do not have a 510 and have not used it so far on TM4C devices.

You can switch over to XDS100 (and that I have used). Please do ensure that the header from the XDS100 is a ARM header.

    Regards
