TMDX570LC43HDK schematics as pdf needed

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDX570LC43HDK, HALCOGEN

Dear TI support,

I am looking for the schematics as pdf for the new TMDX570LC43HDK.

On this site:
http://www.ti.com/tool/tmdx570lc43hdk#technicaldocuments

there is only a "Schematic Design File" with a .dsn file extension, which is of no use for me.

Thank you very much,

Regards,
Tom

  • JM,

that's the low cost LS0432 board not the LC4357 board.

    Tom,

The LC4357 HDK is the same board as the LS3137 HDK since the parts are pin combatible.

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/TMS570LS31x_HDK_Kit#HDK_Board_Schematic

There are some differences that i'm noticing using the board though.  Mainly - there are more pin muxing options on the LC4357.

I'm finding that i need to double check things like the UART that goes to the USB serial port.  It's SCI2 on the LS3137 I believe (at least as far as viewed from inside HalCoGen) but it's LIN/SCI1 on the LC4357 (from a view of HalCoGen).

In other words the schematics are the same but sometimes I'm needing to say 'what is pin 'B7' on the LC4357 - because it's name may not exactly match the same name / function on the 3137.'

  • Tom,

You might try to look at the DSN file to see if it's been updated w. the LC4357 pinout - I haven't checked.

  • Hello Anthony,

thanks for your hints. So I understand that I can use the HDK LS3137 schematics for the LC4357 HDK because it is the same PCB. I just have to watch for alternate pin functions on certain pins. That is fine for me.

Nevertheless, and not to your address personally, does TI really expect us to register with Orcad, download several hundred megabytes and install it just to browse through a schematics of an evaluation board?? This is really ridiculous, I have no time for such nonsense, but please take no personal offense, you did not upload the .dsn file.

Although your answer helps me a lot, I won't verify it, because I am still looking for the pdf. As far as I know, a pdf is a worldwide agreed standard for e.g. browsing through a schematics.

    Thank you very much,
    Best regards,
    Tom

  • Tom,

Probably my fault for posting 2 responses :).  PDF for the LS3137 is on the WIKI page in the first response - if you can't find it let us know.

The orcad links were in case you wanted to examine details of the design - we provide these because some customers use the HDK schematics/layout as a starting point for their own board design.

  • Hello Anthony,

thanks. I am sure people will appreciate that TI is providing design / layout details if they are looking for it. This is a fine thing by TI.

Nevertheless, the initial question remains. If someone (like me) is searching for the 43HDK schematics pdf, he/she won't find it (and won't know that is is the same design as in 3137 for it is not stated on the 43HDK product page). Besides, the processor will have the wrong identification in the 3137 pdf for the 43HDK :) - if this is really the only change.

For me the questions is somewhat answered, so I will not bug you further with this topic.

     Thanks,

    Tom
