development kit or something similar

Hi

I want to start working with TI.

I know enough of the MCHP Microcontrollers (PIC32).

My question is:

Is there a development kit with a GLCD up to 5-inch with Projected Capacitive technology and Ethernet / Wifi communication?

I'm looking for something similar or superior to PIC32MZ and its development kits.

Thank you

  • Hi Fabian,

TI has a very wide product offering ranging from very cost effective MSP430 devices with very efficient low power offerings up to very high performance processor class devices using multiple Cortex A8 cores with many controllers in between.

Each of TI's families of devices have a range of development kits and different ways to solve the problems that you might be looking to solve. If you could help by narrowing down your specific application and performance needs, I could help to point you to the right part of TI.com to look.

  • Some other questions for you:

    - Do you have a preference for specific core types. i.e., do you like ARM cores, DSPs or proprietary cores?

    - Do have an IDE that you are looking to use with the new hardware?

  • Hi

    How are you?

I want to make a terminal for inputting information from a graphic display with Projected Capacitive.

The device communicates vwith a server via Ethernet or Wifi to access information from a database.

The device can be configured and updated via remote, since it can display a web page where technicians can configure the device and / or update the firmware of it.

    Thanks

  • Hi.

About the core. I do not think you need something very complex.

I would also like an  package as TQFP for the microcontroller.

What do you mean by IDE?

    Thanks

  • Hi Fabian,

IDE = Integrated Development Environment.  i.e., editor, compiler, debugger tool all wrapped into one. For TI tools, this is Code Composer Studio. Some generic ones are Keil, IAR, Greenhills, etc.

I think this board may be what you are looking for http://www.ti.com/tool/dk-tm4c129x#1. It has Ethernet with an on chip PHY. I don't believe it is available as a TQFP, but I may be wrong on that. Max system clock is 120MHz, Core = Cortex-M4F. It does not have Wifi, but that could be added via the booster pack interface and addition of a wireless booster pack from TI. Have a look and let me know if this fits your needs.
